Even better is that interior storage can take a vacation when you pile gear into the Sierra's three cargo bed. Bed length varies from 5.8-ft. short bed, 6.6-foot standard bed and an 8-foot long bed.

Pre-owned GMC Sierra - Internet Auto Rent and Sales - Boise, ID

New or used, the GMC Sierra is one of the top full-size pickup trucks on the market. It's loved for its powerful and fuel-efficient engines, well-built and comfortable interior, and quiet on-road demeanor. But, just like any vehicle, problems can occur. One of the most dramatic malfunctions a vehicle can experience is radiator problems. With the heat and pressure that's contained within the cooling system, radiator problems can lead to a cloud of steam and a disabled vehicle. But while the radiator is often to blame, there are many other reasons your vehicle's cooling system is not working correctly. Here are some of the most common problems found in the cooling system.

Failed Thermostat

When a vehicle overheats, the most common culprit is a failed thermostat. While the thermostat is not actually a part of the radiator, it does play a very important role in its health by controlling how much coolant can flow in and out. This helps keep the engine at an optimal operating temperature. When a thermostat fails, the result is an overheating car.

Radiator Hose Leak

If your cooling system has sprung a leak, it's not usually the radiator that's to blame; it's usually the radiator hoses. Hoses connect the radiator to the engine, allowing coolant to flow between the two. Unfortunately, radiator hoses are prone to failure over time and need to be replaced periodically – whether they are working or not.

Radiator Leak

While radiator hoses are typically responsible for leaks, the radiator can also be to blame. Radiator leaks are much harder to locate and repair than leaks in radiator hoses, so you may have your work cut out for you. To tell if a leak is coming from the radiator, look for clues such as bubbles or steam. Also note that while radiators can sometimes be patched, it can be pretty tricky, leaving you with the sole option of buying a new one.

Water Pump Failure

A key component of an automotive cooling system is the water pump. Its job is to move coolant throughout the engine in order to regulate the temperature. Water is pumped through the radiator, past the pump, into the engine and then forced back into the radiator. If your vehicle suffers from a failed water pump, water is no longer able to circulate properly, which leads to overheating.

Trapped Air in the Cooling System

If your vehicle has been running warmer than usual, it could be due to air in the cooling system. If air becomes trapped in the cooling system, the flow of coolant becomes restricted, and in turn, the cooling system becomes less efficient and overheating occurs.

Obstruction in the Cooling System

If your cooling system suffers from an obstruction, it will ultimately overheat. When an obstruction occurs, it becomes difficult for coolant to flow as efficiently as it should. Obstructions can also restrict the flow of air through the radiator, which make the transfer of heat to air impossible. This problem can be caused by a number of things such as bent fins or body damage from an accident.

GMC Sierra - Internet Auto Rent and Sales - Boise, ID

The hot months of summer are winding down, which means the crisp, leaf-crunching months of fall are fast approaching. It's hard not to get excited when you are driving your GMC Sierra over the colorful leaves and with the cooler temperatures.. But, just as quickly as fall blows in, winter lands in its place with a cold and hazardous thud. The best way to help your GMC truck adapt to the change of seasons is by providing it with a checkup. Here are some easy ways to prep your vehicle for the fall and winter months ahead.

Check Fluid Levels

Fluids are vital to the well-being of your vehicle. This is why periodically checking your truck's fluid levels is such an important maintenance service to provide for your vehicle. As fall and winter approach, check and change all fluids, including windshield washer fluid, antifreeze, and brake fluid. It is also wise to check for any leaks and have them fixed as soon as possible to avoid any damage to your truck.

Inspect Spare Tire

As important as it is to ensure your main tires are equipped with enough air and are also in good condition, it is just as important to check your spare. During the chilly months of fall and the harsh months of winter, the last thing you want to suffer is tire trouble. But if you do, having a spare tire that is in good shape and filled with an adequate supply of air will prove extremely helpful in an emergency.

Replace Windshield Wipers

You may not have considered this, but thanks to blowing leaves and wet snow, windshield wipers are typically used more in fall and winter than during the months of summer. This is why replacing your wipers before the seasons change is so important to visibility and the overall safety of you and any passengers inside your truck. Also be sure to replace your rear wipers if your vehicle has them.

Check Lights and Battery

When your vehicle undergoes maintenance services, its electrical components are typically inspected too. But it's also a good idea to have components like the battery and lights checked as the seasons change from hot to cold. By tackling minor issues like these, you can help prevent major automotive problems from occurring during fall and winter months.

Replace Filters

Engine filters are a very important part located under the hood of your truck. Their purpose is to catch all dirt and debris so it doesn't get sucked into the engine, cutting off its air supply. A vehicle's engine requires a constant air supply in order to run efficiently. Without a clean engine filter, this air supply can become blocked, which will lead to engine damage. Engine filters don't have to be changed often, but doing so twice a year is a good idea to prevent them from becoming clogged. Fresh filters also improve fuel economy, emissions, and the overall performance of your vehicle.

Used Truck

When choosing a used pickup to drive this year, the 2015 GMC Sierra is a pickup to consider because of its affordability and almost excellent performance. Even as it is now 2016, the 2015 Sierra SLE has a modern tech package that is still utilized by the Silverado and F-150 this year. For those residing in Nampa, Idaho, looking for the 2015 Sierra, visit Internet Auto Boise who offers their certified pre-owned vehicles with regular promos and discounts. Here is a closer look at their used 2015 GMC Sierra.

The good looks of the 2015 GMC Sierra SLE 4.3 V6 Double Cab is reason enough to own this as a used pickup. The Sierra combines an aggressive and sporty exterior design that begins with a front bumper that sports halogen projector beam headlamps and halogen automatic fog lights. Moving to the side of the pickup, the Sierra SLE is supported by four17” painted steel wheels that mesh well with body-colored side mirrors. Behind the pickup, there is a long 6.6 ft bed space with its own cargo area lamps and a towing hitch. The tailgate also sports a rear bumper with a corner rear step for easy user access of the Sierra’s bed space.

Being a Double Cab, the 2015 GMC Sierra SLE has four doors. This suggests that the vehicle has more cabin room for passengers. Inside the vehicle, up to 5 passengers can fit on comfortable front and rear seats with power and manual features. These seats even come with their own lumbar support for heightened comfort levels. The engine is also coupled with a 6-speed automatic transmission and variable valve timing that allows the pickup to consume fuel efficiently.

The 2015 Sierra SLE has modern technology that is still being used by today’s pickup trucks. Outside, the vehicle has a remote keyless entry which automatically locks/unlocks car doors and trunk upon sensing the vehicle’s key fob in the vehicle’s immediate proximity. Upon sensing the key fob, all vehicle doors and trunk lid unlocks automatically and locks when the key fob is away. Another feature is the vehicle’s power-heated side mirrors that prevent smog accumulation when driving under colder temperatures. Other notable features of the 2015 Sierra SLE are:
